How Movans collects, uses, and protects your personal data. We quote you - we do not sell you, and your details are never passed to a queue of other firms.

Who we are
Movans Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described on this page. We are a removals and storage company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17278860; registered office in the company details below). What we collect
The details you give us to price and arrange a move: your name and contact details, the addresses you are moving between, and the move information you enter in the quote form - property size, dates, access notes, and anything you tell us about your items. If you email or call us, we keep the correspondence. We do not create accounts and this site sets no cookies (see the Cookie Policy).
Why we can use it
We use your data to give you the price you asked for, to arrange and carry out your move or storage, and to handle anything that follows from it - that is performance of a contract, or the steps you ask us to take before one. We keep business records to meet our legal obligations, and we rely on legitimate interests for routine administration. We do not send marketing without your consent.
Instant pricing is our own engine
Your instant price is powered by RCC (removalscostcalculator.co.uk), our own engine, operated by Movans Ltd. Quote data stays inside the company and is handled under this policy - entering your move details does not send them to any third party.
Who we share it with
The vetted crew assigned to your move receives what it needs to do the job: names, addresses, dates, and the move details. Where your move includes storage, the partner facility holding your goods receives the details needed to receive, hold, and redeliver them. Beyond that, only the service providers who run our website and email see any data, and only to keep those services running. One of them is Resend, the transactional email service that delivers your contact and quote form messages to our inbox - it processes that data in the EU under a data processing agreement.
Your details are never sold
This is our actual practice, not a slogan. We do not sell your data, and we do not pass your enquiry to a queue of other removals firms to bid for your job. One company quotes you: us.
How long we keep it
Only as long as we need it. Enquiries that do not become a booking are deleted once it is clear we no longer need them. Records of bookings and payments are kept for as long as UK tax and company law requires - currently six years - and then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, ask for it in a portable format, and withdraw any consent you have given. Contact us using the details in clause 01 - we respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data - for example, if the site gains analytics or a live quote embed - we update this page first and change the date shown at the top.
